The Society for the Advancement of Biology Education (SABER) invites you to submit a proposal to present your science education research for the 2012 National SABER Conference. This is a refereed conference and reviews will be guided by the following criteria:
  • The research is hypothesis driven and investigates questions about teaching and learning in Biology.
  • The research is situated in a theoretical framework and the design, methodologies, procedures, and data analyses are appropriate and rigorous
  • The research advances our understanding of the subject matter

Biology education research categories may include, but are certainly not limited to, those that:
  • examine student learning or performance.
  • evaluate student attitudes or beliefs.
  • investigate the effectiveness of an instructional strategy.
  • develop, test and validate instruments.
  • study faculty perceptions or change as it relates to student learning.
  • examine the effectiveness of training or mentoring programs to impact undergraduate learning.
  • investigate interdisciplinary interfaces between biology and other disciplines.

The format will be either a poster presentation or a traditional presentation by an individual or co-authors lasting 15 minutes each with an additional five minutes for questions.

You will be asked to submit the following:

Title of Submission
Abstract (not to exceed 400 words)

Acceptances will be sent out in early May.
